André Bakhos has spent more than four decades inside institutional equity markets — not as a commentator standing beside them, but as a participant who had to act while the tape was moving.
The work began on the desk: block trading large institutional orders, making markets in OTC names, and running ADR arbitrage where the edge was execution, timing, and the ability to see both sides of a cross-border book. It continued through proprietary trading, institutional sales trading, and advisory work with the people who actually had to decide.
He later founded and operated his own broker-dealer. That meant capital, clients, compliance, and the daily responsibility of a firm — not only a view of the tape.
Ingenium grew out of the analytical work that followed him through all of it. The research is built from that perspective: structure, participation, and pressure, read with the same seriousness as a live order.
Experience informs the process. It does not replace it.
Longevity by itself is not a methodology.
Ingenium combines experienced market judgment with proprietary analytical tools designed to impose structure on that judgment.
Trend is measured.
Breadth is measured.
Relative behavior is measured.
Participation and pressure are measured.
The evidence is then interpreted in context.
The purpose of the models is not to make judgment unnecessary. It is to prevent judgment from becoming arbitrary.
Deliberately independent
Ingenium is intentionally small.
There is no investment committee, publishing department, sales agenda, or institutional house view sitting between the analysis and the person receiving it.
The person developing the methodology is the person reading the market and discussing the conclusion. That direct line is the point of a one-desk firm.
The right counterpart
Ingenium is built for investors who already have a process.
Portfolio managers. Allocators. Advisors. Family offices. Hedge funds. Asset managers. Principals responsible for capital.
The useful relationship is not teacher and student.
It is one experienced market participant providing another with an independent, structured reading of the evidence.
